The Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property #INPI acts as a Receiving Office for patent and utility model applications in Portugal, through its Registos Online page and for the registration of European patents granted by the European Patent Office #EPO - Homepage | epo.org, ensuring the protection of industrial property in the countries that have signed the Munich Convention: Member states of the European Patent Organisation | epo.org. the founding treaty of the European Patent Organisation.
